Implementation of Predictive Policing by Bhabinkamtibmas in Preventing Aggravated Theft at Pare Police Station
Abstract
This research was motivated by the increase in cheating cases occurring in the Pare Police jurisdiction. It was found that people were afraid to report crimes that happened to them to the police (fear of crime), indicating that Bhabinkamtibmas' actions had not implemented predictive policing in accordance with the direction of the National Police Chief. The aim of the research was to describe the implementation of predictive policing by the Pare Police Department's Bhabinkamtibmas to prevent crimes of theft with weighting within the framework of a Precision Police The theories used in this research are George R. Terry's management theory and Michele O. Jones's Program Implementation theory. The concepts used are the predictive policing concept, the Bhabinkamtibmas concept, the curat concept, the Precision Police concept. The research method used is qualitative, with a document study type of research. The research location is in the Pare Police jurisdiction. Primary data sources were obtained using interviews, observation and document study. To test validity using triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis is based on qualitative data analysis. The results of the research show that the implementation of predictive policing by Bhabinkamtibmas in activities carried out to prevent crimes of theft with weights in the jurisdiction of the Pare Police has not been implemented well, as evidenced by the existence of people who experience fear of crime. The activities carried out by Bhabinkamtibmas Pare Police are not in accordance with Perkap Number 7 of 2021. In conclusion, the implementation of predictive policing has not been carried out well by utilizing existing applications. The activities carried out by Bhabinkamtibmas have not been on target. So it is hoped that problem-solving steps can provide changes to the implementation of predictive policing at the Pare Police Bhabinkamtibmas.
