The Effectiveness of Counseling and Guidance in Raising Public Awareness for the Prevention of Aggravated Theft in the Sidoarjo Police Jurisdiction

Abstract

The crime of theft with weighting is a crime that is disturbing in the community. This research aims to describe the phenomenon of theft with weights, describe the role of binluh activities by Bhabinkamtibmas, identify factors that influence counseling guidance activities and examine theories and concepts that are relevant in preventing criminal acts. criminal theft with aggravation in the jurisdiction of the Sidoarjo Police. The research method used is a qualitative approach using data collection techniques through document study, interviews and observation. The results of the research show that cases of criminal acts of theft with weights have increased in the last 3 years. The role of Bhabinkamtibmas through counseling guidance activities is expected to increase public confidence in preventing the occurrence of this criminal act, therefore the effectiveness of the counseling guidance carried out by the Sidoarjo Police Binmas unit still needs to be increased.
