Performance Analysis of the Resmob Unit Investigators of the Criminal Investigation Division at Gresik Police Department in Solving Motor Vehicle Theft Crimes

Abstract

Theft of motorised vehicles or better known as curanmor is one of the many crimes that occur in all regions in the territory of the State of Indonesia. The increase in curanmor cases in East Java occurred in the period 2021-2023. The purpose of this research is to analyse the business performance of the Resmob unit of the Gresik Police Criminal Unit in revealing curanmor cases as a law enforcement effort. This research method is qualitative with the type of research used, namely field research. The data collection techniques used are: interview techniques, observation techniques, and documentation studies. Analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that the performance of the Resmob unit in revealing cases of theft of motorised vehicles was still less than optimal. Then in the aspect of competence, there are still members who do not carry out specialist or vocational detective development education, and there are still members who commit violations in 2022 to be a correction for the internal Gresik Police.
