Community Security Development Efforts by the Ngawi Police Satbinmas via the TikTok Application

Abstract

The development of TikTok social media can be utilised as an extension medium to reduce the crime rate in Ngawi Regency. This study aims to describe the efforts of kamtibmas coaching and find the obstacles faced by Satbinmas Polres Ngawi towards kamtibmas coaching efforts through the TikTok application as an extension media in the Ngawi Polres area. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with the type of field research. Primary data sources were obtained from interviews and observations, while secondary data came from document studies. Data validity used is triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. Data analysis techniques with data collection, data reduction and data presentation. The results showed that the use of Tiktok by members of Satbinmas Polres Ngawi was not optimal because there was no specific Standard Operating Procedure related to the use of TikTok in counselling and there were several obstacles in the use of Tiktok by Satbinmas, namely not all people have mobile phones and Tiktok and the uneven signal quality in Ngawi can hinder communication.
