The Role of Bimluh by Bhabinkamtibmas in Preventing Motor Vehicle Theft Crimes at Dau Police Sector, Malang Police Resort
Abstract
Motor vehicle theft (curanmor) is a crime that raises significant concern among the public. The increasing incidence of curanmor in the jurisdiction of Dau Police Sector, Malang Police Resort, represents a serious disturbance to public security and order, causing widespread anxiety. The police, as protectors of the community, are obligated to maintain public security through their Binmas function by conducting outreach activities to enhance public awareness about curanmor. This research aims to describe the phenomenon of curanmor, analyze the role of outreach activities (bimluh) by Bhabinkamtibmas, examine the factors affecting the effectiveness of these outreach activities, and review relevant theories and concepts in preventing curanmor. The findings indicate that the role of bimluh by Bhabinkamtibmas in preventing curanmor has not been effectively implemented. Two key factors affecting the role of bimluh are identified: internal factors, such as the insufficient quality and quantity of personnel, and external factors, such as the lack of public awareness regarding curanmor prevention. The study recommends that the methods and targets of Bhabinkamtibmas's bimluh activities be more accurately tailored to prevent curanmor and that Bhabinkamtibmas collaborate with relevant parties to enhance the effectiveness of curanmor prevention efforts.
