Optimization of the Performance of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Temanggung Police Resort Through Investigation to Increase the Uncovering of Aggravated Theft

Abstract

This research aims to optimize the performance of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of Temanggung Police Resort in investigating theft crimes with aggravating circumstances. The research used the descriptive-analytic method and qualitative data analysis techniques through interviews, observations, and document studies, as well as using competency theory, management theory, and SWOT analysis theory as analysis tools. The results showed that the performance of Satreskrim of Temanggung Police Resort in investigating theft crimes with aggravating circumstances is still not optimal, as indicated by the low rate of case resolution and the high number of theft cases with aggravating circumstances in the jurisdiction of Temanggung Police Resort. Based on the analysis, this research concludes that several factors are causing the low performance of Satreskrim of Temanggung Police Resort, such as the lack of competence of Satreskrim personnel and the implementation method that does not comply with Perkap and Perkabareskrim regulations regarding the investigation. Therefore, this research provides several recommendations to optimize the performance of Satreskrim of Temanggung Police Resort, which is to improve Satreskrim personnel's competence and implement investigation methods that comply with Perkap and Perkabareskrim regulations regarding the investigation. The results of this research can serve as a reference for the police to improve the performance of Satreskrim of Temanggung Police Resort in investigating theft crimes with aggravating circumstances.
