The Role of Bhabinkamtibmas through the Binmas Online System V2 in Preventing Motor Vehicle Theft in the Jurisdiction of Magetan Police Resort
Abstract
This research was conducted against the backdrop of cases of motor vehicle theft in the Magetan Regency area. Motor vehicle theft cases have become common occurrences that still frequently happen in the Magetan area. In order to create a conducive security situation (Kamtibmas), it is necessary for the community policing officers (Bhabinkamtibmas) to engage with the community. This research aims to explain the role of Bhabinkamtibmas using the Binmas Online System V2 (BOSV2) to prevent motor vehicle theft in the jurisdiction of the Magetan Police Resort and to identify the factors that influence the use of BOSV2 by Bhabinkamtibmas of the Magetan Police Resort to prevent motor vehicle theft. The theories used for analysis are the 6M theory and SWOT analysis theory. The concepts used as theoretical foundations are the concepts of Bhabinkamtibmas, BOSV2, and motor vehicle theft (Curanmor). The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach, more inclined towards descriptive analysis. The sources of information obtained in this research process are through primary and secondary data sources. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and document studies.
Based on the research results, it is found that the role of Bhabinkamtibmas in preventing motor vehicle theft through the Binmas Online System V2 is not optimal, as indicated by the lack of understanding in operating the BOSV2 application. Therefore, this research suggests the need for improving understanding and mastery of the technical functions of community policing, especially for Bhabinkamtibmas, through the polribelajar.id program and the enactment of regulations regarding the operation of BOSV2 to provide clear guidelines for its use.
