Effectiveness of Traffic Education by the Kamsel Unit through Social Media in Enhancing Traffic Security, Safety, Order, and Smoothness in the Jurisdiction of Blitar Police Resort
Abstract
The aim of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of Traffic Dikmas through social media in increasing traffic safety awareness and behavior at the Blitar Police Station. This research used a qualitative approach with field research methods. Data analysis by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the Traffic Dikmas activities that have been carried out by the Blitar Police Traffic Unit to increase public understanding and awareness regarding traffic safety are carried out using educational methods: seminars and live demonstrations that utilize presentation and video media; social media campaigns, educational exhibitions via Instagram and leaflets; various other methods are implemented through guidebooks and community interaction. The role of social media in supporting and strengthening the Traffic Dikmas program at the Blitar Police as a means of communication and conveying traffic safety messages has not been fully effective in achieving all the objectives of implementing Traffic Dikmas. The factors that influence the effectiveness of the Traffic Community Education program which is carried out through social media to increase public understanding and awareness regarding traffic safety at the Blitar Police Station come from human resources, budget, facilities, infrastructure and the accuracy of method selection.
