This study aims to describe and identify the main tasks and functions of police intelligence in preventing and accomplishing early detection of radicalism in santri/dayah in Pidie district, Aceh. The research method is descriptive, with data analysis techniques applying a conceptual approach. The study employed a normative legal framework to investigate issues by combining legal texts and literature with primary data gathered in the field. The research data consists of primary data, the information from members of the Security Intelligence (Intelkam) Unit of Pidie Police obtained through structured interview techniques, and secondary data related to radicalization obtained through literature studies. The data were analyzed using normative legal analysis with a classification, reduction, and analysis sequence. The results show that the Intelkam Unit of Pidie Police has carried out a preventive role as a law enforcement officer working based on laws and regulations to overcome radicalism among Dayah/Santri in Pidie Regency. However, solving radicalism is not enough only by implementing regulations because the problem is more of a social problem that requires solving with a cultural approach, not a structural one. Therefore, Pidie District Police must be able to adjust to the prevailing patterns of behavior in handling and overcoming radicalism in Pidie District Aceh. All parties should play an active role in preventing radicalism, especially among dayah/pesantren. Intelkam Unit of Pidie Police and Dayah parties must continue working together to prevent radicalism in Dayah and community life.
