Optimization of Early Detection by Bhabinkamtibmas in Preventing Drug Abuse in the Jurisdiction of Klaten Police Resort

Abstract

Population growth is always increasing every year. This condition affects the number of Indonesian people who are not proportional to the number of police officers. This can be a potential high crime rate caused by the lack of supervision from the police, one of which is drug abuse that occurs in the jurisdiction of Klaten Police. In 2020 to 2022 drug abuse in Klaten Regency has always increased. So that preventive and pre-emptive actions are needed by members of the National Police. The National Police as protectors, protectors, and servants of the community must be able to overcome these problems. Bhabinkamtibmas as the front guard who, in carrying out their duties, should be very close to the community in the target village and also as the bearer of the intelligence function must be able to carry out this detection to prevent drug abuse in the jurisdiction of Klaten Police. Data collection in this study through interviews, observations, document studies, and focus group discussions to all sources that have relevance to this research. Research results in this study found that the performance of Bhabinkamtibmas in conducting early detection to prevent drug abuse in the jurisdiction of Klaten Police was considered not optimal.
