The Role of Satreskrim Investigators in Handling the Crime of Theft with Aggravating Circumstances at the Pasuruan Police

Abstract

As a law enforcement officer, the National Police is very bound by existing legal regulations so that the National Police in carrying out their duties is related to the existence of a criminal act. Cases of aggravated theft in the jurisdiction of the Pasuruan Police always increase from 2019 to 2022. The aim of this research is to determine the role of investigators in investigation management and the competency of investigators in handling fraudulent crimes. This research uses analysis tools, namely Competency Theory, Role Theory, and the concept of roles, the concept of investigation, the concept of theft with weights and the concept of criminal acts. The type of research used is field research and data collection techniques through interviews, observation and document study. The analysis technique used is data reduction and presentation and drawing conclusions. In this final assignment, it was found that there was a lack of the investigator's role in conducting investigations due to the lack of witnesses, the vast legal area of ​​the Pasuruan Police was an obstacle and the inadequate competence of investigators also became an obstacle in carrying out investigations at the Pasuruan Police.
